“Back when I was the Christian Education Director at SUMC I prayed many times for God to use me as His instrument, to reach people of all ages and help them in their relationship with God and each other,” Dillabough said. “When I was asked to join the Communications department writing articles and creating publications that are used for the purpose of making new disciples of Jesus, I thanked God for answering my prayers.”
This was a quote from an article written by Stephen J. Hustedt, former Director of Communications about the upcoming talent, Christina Dillabough. Hustedt was quoted as saying, “Conference Communications are going to benefit greatly from Christina’s experience and positive attitude,” Hustedt said. “Her initial work on the Journal has significantly contributed the earliest publication date I’ve ever seen and what I believe is the highest quality to date. What’s really exciting is that this is just the beginning of how she will help us share our story.”
The Desert Southwest Conference is pleased to announce that after an extensive search and various interviews, Christina Dillabough was selected as the new Director of Communications for The Desert Southwest Conference. During the search process, Dillabough served as the interim Director. Once she accepted the offer, she hit the ground running. In addition to the committees the Director of Communications previously served on, Dillabough has also joined the Hispanic Ministries Committee.
With her Hispanic background and bilingual skills Dillabough has her heart towards becoming a major supporter in creating new ministries in new places by sharing the story of the exciting things happening within Hispanic ministries and vice versa ensuring that Spanish-speaking people receive all communications available to English-speaking people in the language they are most comfortable with.
With her promotion comes an opportunity for new ideas and growth for the Communications department as the Conference begins a search for a new Writer, Graphic Designer, Editor, and/or Videographer to join the dynamic team. “We share the stories of ministry within and around The Desert Southwest Conference to create new disciples of Jesus Christ and the transformation of the world. Ideally, I would love to find someone that has a passion for video ministry and a background in script writing. That would mean that he/she is creative and has an eye for capturing a story.” Resumes and portfolio samples will be accepted until Friday, September 20, 2013 to or mailed to the Conference Center at 1550 E. Meadowbrook Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85014.
