After seven months as the Creative Arts Producer/Editor, Colin Noonan will be leaving The Desert Southwest Conference Communications Department. Colin joined the team in October, eager to make an impact and develop his passion for telling the story through video production. In his short time with the Conference he has demonstrated how relationships are critical to the success of the Church.

Colin has a gift for relationship building; when people talk to him they can sense he really cares about what they have to say. Because of that, Colin was able to produce excellent videos and in turn, helped to strengthen the relationship between the Conference and local churches. As a communications department, we serve to do two things, tell the story of the ministry happening within our Conference and resource the leadership of the Church.

Colin will be missed by many at the Conference office but he won’t be missing in action for long. Although he has accepted a position as Communications Director for his former employer, Mountain View Lutheran Church, Colin has graciously offered to partner with the Conference on video production projects whenever his schedule allows. Now that the Conference has experienced how critical video is to Communications, there will be many more stories captured on film in the future.

Colin’s last day with the Conference will be May 14, 2014. In July, an announcement will be made regarding two part-time positions in the Communications department: a Writer/Editor and a Videographer/Social Media Specialist.

The Communications Department has seen a lot of change in the past eight years, attracting many talented individuals blessed with a variety of gifts in communications. With each new person the ministry of communications evolves and the Conference continues to lead the way in religious communications. We are saddened to see Colin leave but wish him blessings and success in his return to the local church.
