At last year’s Annual Conference, along with several others, I was captured, imprisoned, and ransomed by students of our Wesley Foundation at The University of Arizona. Through that effort, $1,740 was raised for Imagine No Malaria and went toward our Conference goal of $2 million dollars.
This year, hoping to again be a part of our historic United Methodist effort to eliminate deaths due to malaria, I am walking (and maybe running) in our Imagine 5K at Annual Conference on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Details about this 5K can be found on our Conference website at http://www.desertsouthwestconference.org/imagine-5k or at the registration site http://imagine5k.org .
But here’s where I need your help! I am looking for persons who will sponsor my walk. I will walk for any amount you may be willing to offer! My personal goal is to raise $6,439 from sponsors for my walk. It’s easy to sponsor a walker. Just go to http://tinyurl.com/imagine5kDonate , and click on “Donate Here.” You can sponsor someone, save a life, and have your donation credited to your local church’s goal. What’s not to like about that?!
AND here’s my other plea. I am looking for walking partners who will walk with me to raise awareness of and donations for Imagine No Malaria. Will you walk with those of us who are already signed up?
There is even an option for those who prefer to sleep in and participate. 100% of your registration fee goes to saving lives. In fact, my registration fee already is going to Imagine No Malaria. So that means I only have $6,419 to go to meet my goal for my walk at Imagine 5K!
Will you help me reach my goal? And will you help our Conference attain our goal of $2 million to save lives?
