I have had experiences this season of our Church Conferences that are engaging and encouraging. As our District Lay Leader, Phyllis Murray, and I have been traveling the circuit, we have witnessed disciples of Jesus engaged in ministry with their hearts and minds. We have heard about challenges being faced. We have been inspired by testimonies of faith and creative ministries.
The Christ candle has traveled and been lit at every conference. The presence of Christ has been with us and we have witnessed that we are connected in the body of Christ as the spirit of each church blesses the next through prayer and covenant. Phyllis and I are committed to being a part of the connecting links across our circuit to unite and thereby make our ministries stronger.
The North District photo board has traveled from church to church with a photo of each conference being added as we progress. It is an example of our breadth of ministry and strength of connection. Each photo represents many disciples, many ministries, many congregations engaged in following Jesus Christ.
The more we engage in ministry as a network across our district, the stronger and more effective we become. Our District Leadership Conference this January 28th will focus on ways we engage in ministry as a connection. As we engage we inspire, challenge, encourage, and resource one another into greater excellence as we make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Our North District Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/northdistrictdscumc/#)is one opportunity for us to engage each other. It is a place for the community of the North District UMC of the Desert Southwest Conference to connect, receive inspiration, and be informed. Check it out — “Like” it — share it — post to it the ministries of our district.
