Follow the Light of the World

by | Jan 10, 2017 | West District Newsletter, West District Web Page

Sisters and brothers in Christ

I heard the following from a college football coach: “I encouraged my players to let the light inside of them be brighter than the light shining on them.”

As those who seek to follow the Light of the world this could serve us well as a statement of mission and ministry.

The light shining inside of each of us is fostered in many ways, including through our relationships with one another and through our work as the community of faith. Most of all, that light is sustained and strengthened by the relationship we have with God though Jesus the Christ.

The light inside us is nourished by our gatherings as well, such as the West District Leadership Event which will take place on Saturday, February 4 at Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church. This is a gathering for laity and clergy throughout the West District. It is a time to connect as the people of God, to learn and grow, and to become better equipped to make disciples in the name of Jesus Christ. Click here for more information and to register

Friends, please prayerfully consider your participation in this time together.

Thank you for sharing the Light of Christ in all that you do and say. It is a blessing to witness that light in each and every one of you, and it is a privilege to serve with all of you.

God’s peace and grace and Light to you.
