UMOM garden needs volunteers

by | Jan 11, 2017 | East District Newsletter, West District Newsletter

UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix has operated a food garden for several years.  In 9 raised beds measuring 6 ft. by 8 ft., they have grown a variety of vegetables and herbs, including tomato plants, cucumbers, and squash.  This has been used in their own kitchen.

With more volunteers, they could meet their own needs and beyond.  What a wonderful way to connect our faith to those in need of healthy food in our community.  If you or your congregation wish to volunteer, contact James Dutcher at UMOM at 480-220-7081.
