NOTE: This post originally had “Thursday” in the title, but the event is on Tuesday, the 28th.
“I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” NRSV 25:36
Do you hope for the restoration of those affected by incarceration? Do you pray for prisons to become more rehabilitative places or for a restorative criminal justice system? Do you believe that bringing the love of Jesus to the incarcerated and their families, can create moments where people can encounter the living Christ? If you’ve heard God’s call but don’t know where to start, join this conversation.
February 28, 2017, 7:00-8:00 PM
Learn about the prison environment, its laws, its treatment of incarcerated individuals and the long-lasting effects on those incarcerated. The Prison Reform Task group is hosting a series of conversations with the first conversation led by Judge Cecil Ash, offering his legal and legislative insights on incarceration.
Attendance is available both on-site in the Galvan meeting room at the Desert Southwest Conference Center, 1550 E Meadowbrook Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, and remotely via live stream. Please email your questions for Judge Ash in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org along with a request for the print outs that will be distributed in person.
