Death of Alita Holt

Prayers are requested for the family of Alita Holt, surviving spouse of Rev. Nathan Holt. Alita died on Friday, March 3, 2017, after suffering a ruptured aortic aneurysm. The memorial service information has not been finalized. Cards may be sent to her daughter:

Pastor George Barcus

Prayers are requested for George Barcus, pastor of Parker UMC in the North District. Pastor Barcus’ brother, Jimmy Barcus, died on Friday, March 3. Jimmy was a member of Spirit of Hope UMC in Peoria. Please keep Pastor Barcus and his family in your prayers during this difficult time. (Published March 6)

Rev. Ivan Burnett

Prayers are requested for Rev. Ivan Burnett, a retired pastor in the South District. Rev. Burnett’s brother, Rev. Steve Burnett, a retired pastor of the Rocky Mountain Conference, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and will have surgery on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Rev. Burnett will be traveling to be with his brother and family before and after surgery. Please keep Rev. Burnett and his family in your prayers during this difficult time. (Published March 7)

Rev. Robert Holiday

Prayers are requested for Rev. Robert Holliday, pastor of St. James UMC, Tucson, in the South District. Rev. Holliday is having surgery tomorrow, March 10, 2017, to remove kidney stones. Please keep Rev. Holliday in your prayers during this difficult time. (Published March 9)

Alita Holt

Prayers are requested for the Holt family. A memorial service for Alita Holt, the widow of Rev. Nathan Holt, a former District Superintendent in the Desert Southwest Conference, will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 10:00 AM at First UMC of Mesa, 15 E 1st Ave, Mesa, AZ 85210.

Clergy are invited to process wearing a robe and stole of their preference. Clergy will gather in the adult lounge located off the courtyard starting at 9:30 AM.
