April 6, 2017

Dear Colleagues,

As a follow up to my email sent on March 23rd, I am writing to share updated information and details for registering for the “Next Conversation” event for clergy and lay persons assigned in the Desert Southwest Conference. Because of the very important nature of this conversation, I am encouraging you to be present if at all possible. We will be in prayerful conversation about our covenant as a body of workers in God’s vineyard. We are diligently working to find the resources to supplement any funds you have available for professional development so we can reimburse some of your expenses of traveling to participate.

The “Next Conversation” will take place at the Franciscan Renewal Center located at 5802 E. Lincoln Drive in Scottsdale, Arizona on Thursday, April 27, 2017, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Registration is $30 per person, including lunch and is now available by clicking the following link:

http://desertsouthwestconference.campbrainregistration.com

Registration Deadline is Monday, April 17, 2017.

For persons needing lodging, we have secured a reduced rate at the Holiday Inn Express Scottsdale North located at 7350 E. Gold Dust, Scottsdale, AZ 85258, 480-596-6559. The group rate is $92.00 per night and a buffet breakfast and wifi are included. This rate will only be guaranteed until Monday, April 17, 2017. Reservations may be made by clicking the link in the registration form or calling the hotel directly and using the group code: DSCUMC.

In addition, persons who can provide or who need lodging are encouraged to explore the option of house sharing with a colleague.

For those of you who will be traveling by air to this event, it would be helpful if you could consider carpooling, sharing rides or using Uber or Lyft to come from/to the airport. You can submit your receipt for this with your expenses.

If you have any questions about registration, please contact my assistant, Julie O’Neal at joneal@dscumc.org or 602-266-6956 x 209.

Please make a strong effort to be present; and if it is not possible for you to attend, please contact your District Superintendent to request absence.

In Christ,
Bob
