The East District is looking for 20 people to be East District At Large Members to Annual Conference Thursday, June 15 – Sunday, June 18. Annual Conference is a gathering of clergy and laity from all the churches in the Desert Southwest Conference. This year’s event will be at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa, 9495 W Coyotes Blvd, Glendale, AZ 85305.

The Annual Conference pays the registration fee for at large members of the Annual Conference. If housing is needed, it is provided for at the double occupancy rate.

If you would like to nominate yourself (or someone you have spoken with and they have agreed to serve) to be an at large member from the East District, please click on the button below and complete the form to submit your application. District at large members to Annual Conference must be a member of an East District United Methodist Church. Diversity is a high value in the United Methodist Church and in our Conference. In order to keep statistics and make sure we honor the wide range of experiences of different people, we ask for this information on our various forms.

Complete Nomination Form

There are four meals provided at Annual Conference. We do our best to meet special needs (like vegetarian and gluten-free), but we are unfortunately not able to accommodate all diets. The meals we currently provide are: Thursday lunch, Friday lunch, Saturday lunch, and Saturday dinner.

Yes, childcare is available, although registration is required in advance so that we can assure enough staff to care for the children properly. Infants through children in the sixth grade are accepted in childcare.

If you have any questions please contact Carla Whitmire, cwhitmire@dscumc.org in the District Office.

Deadline to submit a nomination is Wednesday, April 19.
