2018 West District Leadership Events

by | Aug 7, 2017 | West District Newsletter, West District Web Page

West District Friends,

Greetings to you in the name of Christ! As chair of your District Leadership Team, I’m excited to share some news with you, and to ask for your help as we plan our 2018 Leadership Development events.

SAVE THE DATES!!

As we did in 2017, we are offering two separate leadership events. The first is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, January 13, 2018. This Administrative Training will include workshops for new and continuing local church committee/commission members. Individual sessions will be held concurrently for Finance, Trustees, and Staff/Parish Relations. The training will be from 9:30 – 11:30 AM at Dove of the Desert UMC in Glendale.

The second event will be a District Day of Learning. This all-day event is scheduled for Saturday, February 17, 2018 and will include workshops on a variety of topics, from Centering Prayer, to Lay Servant Ministries/Certified Lay Ministry, to Congregational Caregiving…and more!! Participants will choose two sessions to attend based on their own needs and interests.

YOUR CHANCE TO HELP!

And that’s where we need your help. We would like to tailor this Day of Learning to the needs of those in the district as much as possible, so we’d like you to complete a short three-question survey that will help as we finalize our plans. Please respond by Wednesday, August 16.

Thank you in advance for helping your leadership team offer the most relevant training and development events possible during the coming year!! Please save the dates and make plans to attend one or both events!

Saturday, January 13, 2018 – Administrative Training (Morning Only)
Saturday, February 17, 2018 – District Day of Learning (All Day)

Grace and Peace,
Rev. Jody Topping, Chair
West District Leadership Team
