Here’s an idea your church can use to be courageous and support the unseen or unheard people in your community.

Paradise Valley United Methodist Church (PVUMC) is hosting the 5th Syrian Sweets Exchange in Phoenix, Arizona. This event invites local Syrian bakers to sell scrumptious homemade Syrian sweets and Turkish coffee. All proceeds go directly to the bakers to help them support their families. The ultimate goal is for these refugees to find employment in the baking industry or open home bakery businesses. The church is taking a courageous show of support and solidarity with the Syrian people of their community. If you are in the area on October 1 between 10:30 AM – 12:20 PM, stop by and pick up some sweets. Click here to download the event flyer.

Contact Tan Jakwani at thanhtanbui@hotmail.com or visit www.syriansweetsaz.com to see if you can host a Syrian Sweets Exchange at your church.
