WHAT IS CENTERING PRAYER

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.

Introduction to Centering Prayer
Presented by Contemplative Outreach of Southern Nevada, and based on the teaching of Fr. Thomas Keating, this workshop will include a discussion of prayer as a dynamic relationship with God.  The method of Centering Prayer will be taught.  Other topics covered will be the role of thoughts, emotions and distraction in prayer, together with a discussion on the fruits of a daily practice of Centering Prayer.

Presenters:  Gard Jameson, Ph.D and Francyl Gawryn

There is no charge for training, but a Love Offering will be appreciated
