by | Nov 3, 2017 | Communications

With sadness, we share the news that Mrs. Ruth Neigh, the surviving spouse of Rev. Charles Neigh, retired elder in the Desert Southwest Conference, passed away on October 19, 2017.

Mrs. Ruth Neigh was a very active church person. She was from Switzerland visiting the U.S. when she met Charles and they fell in love and were married. Ruth’s love was music ministry. She sang in choirs and when there was no choir at the churches they served, she started one. She also played the piano, guitar and harpsichord. She leaves two daughters, Heidi and Marilou.

Rev. Charles Neigh served the following churches in his years of pastoral ministry: North Hollywood, in Hollywood, California; First UMC in Calipatria, California; First UMC in Banning, California; Walteria UMC in Torrance, California; First UMC of Rubidoux, California. In the Desert Southwest Conference, he served Buckeye Community UMC in Buckeye, Arizona; First UMC in Mesa, Arizona and First UMC in Winslow, Arizona. He retired in 1986 and died in 2000.

A memorial service will be held at Payson United Methodist Church, 414 North Easy Street, Payson, AZ 85541, on November 18, 2017. A light luncheon will follow the service in the social hall. Memorial gifts may be given in memory of Ruth Neigh to Payson UMC.

Condolences may be mailed to her daughter, Heidi Hess, PO Box 1502, Pine, AZ 85544.

With gratitude for the life of Mrs. Neigh, please hold the family in prayer at this time.
