2018 is our 60th anniversary here at Potosi Pines Camp and we have A LOT going on! We hope you will plan to be a part of some or all of what we have to offer.
Spring
April 6 is our annual fundraiser for camperships. Come join us for Cookie and Canvas! We are excited about this new, fun event. Along with a painting opportunity, you can also bid on so many wonderful items in our silent auction. Not only is it going to be great fun, it’s all for a great cause to help us send kids to camp! Plan to join us on April 6 at DSUMC at 7:00 pm. Call for more info or tickets.
April 21-22 will be our annual Teen Girls retreat. If you have Jr. or Sr. High girls in your life, please get them registered for this powerful retreat. Our theme this year is “Renew Yourself” and we hope to empower our young women to step boldly into their lives and live fully as the amazing creation God made them to be! There is no charge for this event, as we want all to come.
May 11-12 will be the annual Women’s Retreat! We are inviting women of all ages to come and play, learn and grow at Potosi as we explore what it means to be women of Wonder, Wisdom, and Worship! This powerful retreat will also explore ideas of empowerment and self-love.
Summer, of course, is CAMP time here!
We have something for every age group. Please plan to get all the young people in your lives up here this summer! Our programs are fun and exciting but they are so much more! We are working to grow spiritual leaders, to build self-confidence and to help them appreciate God in nature and even more. We love our s’mores, games, crafts and hikes but we are absolutely more than that! The work we are doing is truly transformational and we want everyone to be a part. Please don’t ever let cost be a reason for keeping a child from camp! We have several scholarship opportunities and we can help, just ask! Fall is going to bring our anniversary celebrations!
Oct 6 will be a great day of fun here at Potosi and you are all invited! Come join us for food, tie-dye, archery, music, and celebration as we look back over 60 years of ministry! If you have any Potosi memorabilia (tee shirts, crafts, photos…) we would love to borrow it!
Dec 1 will cap off our amazing year of celebration with a Christmas at Potosi event. All are invited to come and spend the day or spend the night as we celebrate 60 years.
Also a part of our celebration, we will be offering limited edition 60th anniversary tee shirts for sale. You will NOT want to miss out on the anniversary cookbook full of all the best recipes from our Potosi Pines Kitchen, as well as great photos and Potosi goodness! Both will be available this fall and I’m sure will go fast, so plan to get yours while supplies last!
Not only are we looking back to celebrate our anniversary, we are also looking at the possibilities for the next 60 years at Potosi. We are working with Kaleidoscope, a master planning team that will help us with long-term planning. We are excited to see what comes of this good work and think it is a perfect time to begin to prepare for the next chapters. Stay tuned to what that brings.
We also have a few exciting facility upgrades that are in progress even as we speak! We are working hard to be good stewards of this amazing blessing that God has given our conference. We want to be in our best shape for the coming year and beyond.
