A new way to partner for lasting change

by | Mar 27, 2018 | North District Web Page, North District Newsletter

Interested in learning about a new District-wide ministry serving youth and young adults who are exiting from the foster care system and in need of support? Please join us at University UMC on April 6 to learn about a program called Open Table that will allow United Methodist Churches across the North District to work together to assist former foster youth to establish and meet their own goals.

This is an excellent opportunity to not only partner with the Department of Family Services to provide a much-needed service to our community, but Open Table is also a model that can be applied in a variety of other ministry areas, such as lifting a person or family out of poverty or being able to gain a sustaining independence in life. Come to an information session to meet Jon Katov, founder of Open Table, and see how you might be able to get involved.

The information sessions will be held at University UMC on Friday, April 6 at the following times:

9am-10: 30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall
11am-12: 30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall
5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. in Room 5

Please attend whichever session best meets your schedule. We look forward to sharing this exciting information with you all.
