Creative Worship at Vista de la Montana UMC, Tucson

Vista de la Montana UMC is involved in two amazing projects at the present time. First, we are developing a “Live Streaming” worship ministry. Our services are live streamed for anyone to see at 10 am on Sunday mornings. To access live streaming, go to our web site vistaumc.org. We have about 100 people join us on Sundays, which is pretty amazing in that we have about 270, on an average, in Sunday worship. Many of those who watch are home bound or vacationing members; however, we also have a growing group of people that we are their church on Sunday Morning. We have had people from Australia to Switzerland join us, as well as 10 states in the US on a regular basis.

In our Sanctuary we have 3 cameras and an all-volunteer production crew. We are carefully documenting the equipment purchased and installed along with our successes and failures; so that any other church that would like to start a similar ministry could do it in a much quicker fashion.

Looking to the future, we hope to start a series of “Satellite Fellowships” in the smaller communities north of our church to bring the Wesleyan view of the Gospel to new friends. It is a very relationship oriented approach even though the worship will be experienced online. To this end, we now own a “Roku” channel that will be up and running soon. Online, we will be known as “Vista Church Online”.

The second project we are working on is to raise $1.5 million dollars for the first phase of a $5 million, three-phase project. The first phase will be classrooms and administrative offices to replace the portable buildings that have long outlived their useful lives. We are spending the next several months raising money and securing commitments over a three year period so that we don’t have to go into a long term mortgage. We have currently raised about one third of the total needed.

In Christ’s service
