Student care during teacher walkouts

by | Apr 25, 2018 | Not In USe

The teacher walkout and school closures were such unexpected news this week that many families are still working out what to do with their school-aged children. Some United Methodist Churches are offering their support by providing free childcare. Some churches are still in the planning phase and figuring out what they can do to support the families in need. Although not all United Methodist churches have the space or resources for this type of response, you can find out if the United Methodist Church near you is providing childcare by visiting www.find-a-church.org and searching for the church in your community.

Want to know how you can contribute to this community effort? Contact the church near you and see if they are accepting food or monetary donations to help cover the cost of additional staffing, water bottles, snacks or lunches needed to care for the school-aged kids. Visit www.find-a-church.org.
