The Desert Southwest Conference joins our Bishop, our Conference Immigration Taskforce and the Western Jurisdiction Immigration Taskforce to call all people to take action in love, for justice, grounded in hope as we respond to the current situation along the Southern Border and Immigration.

Take Action Now: Plan a moment of reflection and prayer on July 4th with your friends, family, or members of your church for all those impacted by immigration. On Sunday, July 8th all Methodist churches are invited to join in prayer using resources you can find clicking here.

Arizona Justice For Our Neighbors: The task forces continue to support the work of our sanctuary congregations, cities, and those working with refugees. In addition, Arizona Justice For Our Neighbors is currently providing legal support to our immigrant brothers and sisters. (Click here to support Arizona Justice For Our Neighbors)

Wesley Frontera: Learn more about college student ministry along the southern border and ministry with DACA students by reaching out to our Tucson Wesley Foundation and Wesley Frontera. Email Rev. Hannah Bonner at hannah.bonner@gmail.com to get started.

The Inn Project: This is a partnership between Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Protect and The United Methodist Church of the Desert Southwest Conference to provide shelter and humanitarian relief to Asylum seekers who have recently arrived in the United States.

If you would like to host a Know Your Rights Workshop at your church, please contact the Immigration Task Force at ella@azjfon.org to help support your immigrant community.

If you would like to know more about ways your church can support refugees, please contact the Refugee Ministries Task Force at mara@dayspring-umc.org.
