Introducing Ginny Hildebrand, District Lay Leader

by | Jul 3, 2018 | East District Newsletter, East District News Webpage

I’m Ginny Hildebrand one of your new East District Lay Leaders. I was trying to figure out how to best introduce myself to you but I’m not sure what you want to know?

Is it important for you to know I have been a lifelong Methodist or would you rather know that my husband and I have been married more than 50 years, have three daughters and two grandsons?

Would you want to know that I have lived in Arizona more than 40 years with 33 of those years in Mesa, but was born in New Jersey and have strong ties to Nebraska, or that I was a lobbyist on behalf of hungry Arizonans for 28 years?

Would it make a difference if you knew my unofficial title professionally among food bankers was “She who herds cats” or that one of my Board Members said, “If you need to know who is doing what, with what resources and being successful, ask Ginny?”

Maybe you would want to know what offices or responsibilities I have held in the church, in my career or in my community. But maybe more so you would want to know what successes I’ve had in helping organizations strengthen their mission and goals and make a difference?

Most of all, I want you to know I’m tremendously humbled and honored to have been invited to serve as one of the East District Lay Leaders. Following Paul Browning is a tremendous challenge, but I know he will be there to help and guide us along the way.

Together, all of us have an unending opportunity in the East District to learn from each other and find new and exciting ways to serve God. My goal is to be an authentic and reliable resource for you in the East District to inspire, cultivate and strengthen the churches we all love.

See you soon, and let me know if you have any other questions…

Ginny
