I was raised in Southern California where I attended and eventually became a member of the United Methodist Church in Tujunga, California. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master’s in Human Resource Administration from Ottawa University. For 25 years, I was employed as an HR Professional by various public sector employers, and I retired from that career in October 2010.
In the early 1990s, my husband, David and I joined Los Arcos UMC in Scottsdale, AZ. Although I felt God calling me to some type of ministry in the mid-1990s, I didn’t respond fully until 2007 when I explored the possibility of becoming a pastor. In 2008, I started seminary at Claremont School of Theology, then later transferred to Iliff School of Theology in Denver, where I completed my MDiv in June 2012.
While at Iliff, I served as a Pastoral Intern at Gold Canyon UMC, after which I served as their Director of Congregational Care until May 2014. I was Commissioned in 2014 and ordained in 2016. I have been serving at Faith United Methodist in the West District since July 1, 2014. I am passionate about social justice issues, LGBTQ rights, church revitalization, sharing the gospel with children and teens, ministering to the homeless, and reaching out to the community to spread the good news of Christ’s love for all.
On a personal note, David and I will celebrate our 39th Wedding Anniversary on December 29, 2018. We have two adult children: Ryan (who is married to Audrey) and Erika (who will marry Wesley Hoffman in October 2018…and yes, I’ll be officiating!!) We also have an adorable grandson named Anderson, who calls Ryan and Audrey “mama” and “dada.”
