In Memory of Mrs. Lana Burch

With sadness, we share the news that Mrs. Lana Burch, wife of Rev. James O. Burch, died on September 30, 2018.

Lana was born on March 25, 1943 in Sherman, TX and moved to Oregon with her husband and children in June of 1980 as her husband began a life of service as a pastor in The United Methodist Church. Lana graduated from Marylhurst College with a degree in accounting. She worked as an accountant until she retired and served as a dedicated member of The United Methodist Church until her health began to decline. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend.

Rev. James O. Burch was a retired elder who served in the Desert Southwest conference from 2000 to 2007. He served in the US Air Force as a chaplain in Texas; Peshawar, Pakistan; and Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Southern Methodist University and served in the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference and the Desert Southwest Conference at Yuma: Trinity UMC and Mesa: Grace UMC. He retired in 2005 and served at Overgaard: Shepherd of the Pines and Chandler: Chandler UMC while in retirement. Rev. Burch died on December 20, 2009.
