We are going to cause a ripple that reaches at least 50 college students who are alumni of Foster Care.

Remember that challenge we were given at Annual Conference last June to create a ripple in our community? Here’s one great way we can start a ripple together as a District.

Recently, a group of college and post-secondary education students in Las Vegas, who are also foster care alumni, were asked what would help them stay the course in their pursuit of higher education. They expressed a longing for signs of encouragement during the tough weeks, like mid-terms and finals week.

So we in the North District are going to work together to make that happen! Here’s what we are asking you to do.

It’s as easy as ONE, TWO!

ONE: Collect lots of donations of small, fun and/or useful gift items and bring them to the North District Leadership training on January 26.

TWO: When you bring your donations to the North District Leadership Conference on January 26, we will pool all of the items. During the day, you will have an opportunity to put together a customized Care Package, along with a note of encouragement for one or more students.

Ideas for items to include:
Soft fuzzy socks
$5 Gift Cards
Soup Mug
Fidget Toys
Ear pods
Small to medium lotions
Protein Bars
Stainless Steel Water Bottle
Laundry Pods
Hot Chocolate
Hard Candy
Instant Coffee
String Lights
Chewing Gum

Use your imagination to think of other surprises that will fit in a small gift bag and make a student laugh or feel loved.

Let’s be a community who loves like Jesus, setting a ripple of confidence in motion for these young adults, by showing them we believe in their ability to finish college well.
