Post Special General Conference message from Dan

by | Feb 28, 2019 | North District Web Page

We are now in the days following the Special General Conference in St Louis. It is a day after in which we seek  clarity, footing, and direction. The decision of the conference was to accept a modified Traditional Plan as our way forward. There are many questions about the implications and UMC constitutionality of this plan. In the weeks and months to come greater clarity will be discerned.

In these days, I encourage us to stay steady in our ministries and not reactive. Let us continue to reflect and live out the values we hold which are the same today as yesterday. Let us continue the practices of being church as we have sought to be and do as the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Let us have the conviction and courage to be the church, loving like Jesus, acting for justice, and united in hope. Let us practice our values of trust, compassion, relationship, authenticity, boldness, and collaboration. Let us continue in prayer as we seek to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

I look forward to participating in our worship service of Called Together by Grace: as one Body on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Please click here for times and locations.

 Blessings in Christ,
Dan
