Appointment Announcements March 18

The Rev. Dan Morley, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the North District, announced that Bishop Robert T. Hoshibata intends to appoint the Rev. Susan Holden as the senior pastor of Journey United Methodist Church of Las Vegas, NV, effective July 1, 2019. Rev. Holden is currently serving at University UMC and UNLV Campus Ministry in Las Vegas.

 

Rev. Robyne Mayer, currently appointed to Journey United Methodist Church, will be returning to the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference, where Bishop John Schol intends to appoint her to St. Paul UMC in Bay Head, New Jersey.

Please pray for Rev. Holden, Rev Mayer, Journey UMC, University UMC, and St. Paul UMC during this time of transition.

 


 

The Rev. Daniel R. Morley, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the North District, announced that Bishop Robert T. Hoshibata intends to appoint Terry Kim as the pastor of First Henderson United Methodist Church in Henderson, NV, effective May 1, 2019 per paragraph 318.1 in the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline. Pastor Kim is currently serving Journey United Methodist Fellowship in Maricopa, AZ.

 

Pastor Fred Heggestad, currently serving First Henderson United Methodist Church, has requested to discontinue serving as a local pastor following his years of faithful service to our church.

Please join First Henderson UMC and the Desert Southwest Conference in giving praise to his faithful years of service as we pray for Pastor Fred, Pastor Kim, Journey UMF and First Henderson UMC during this transition.

 


 

The Rev. N. Susan Brims, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the East District, announced that Bishop Robert T. Hoshibata intends to appoint the Rev. Khalif Smith as the senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Mesa, AZ, effective July 1, 2019. Rev. Smith is currently serving at Trinity United Methodist Church in Las Vegas, NV. Please pray for Rev. Smith and his family, First UMC of Mesa, and Trinity UMC of Las Vegas during this time of transition.

 

 

 


 

The Rev. Mark Conrad, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the South District, announced that Bishop Robert T. Hoshibata intends to appoint Rev. Ken Archer as senior pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Tucson, AZ effective July 1, 2019 per paragraph 346.1 and 358.6 of the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline. Rev. Archer is currently a retired member of the Texas Annual Conference. Please keep Rev. Archer, his family and the congregation in your prayers.
