In Memory of Rev. Wayne Brown

In faith, we share the news that Rev. Wayne Brown, a retired elder in the Desert Southwest Conference, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Rev. Brown was born on March 21, 1943. He was ordained in 1971 and his ministry included service in the North Dakota Annual Conference – Neche-Cavalier: First UMC; Devils Lake: First UMC; Minot: Vincent UMC; The Desert Southwest Conference – Las Vegas: Griffith UMC; Las Vegas: Desert Spring UMC. Rev. Brown retired in 2005. His wife Char died in 2018 and they are survived by two children and family in the Las Vegas area.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00 am (mountain time) at Desert Spring UMC, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89144. There will be a viewing at 10:00 am and a reception following the funeral. For the service, clergy are invited to participate in the clergy processional, wearing whatever color robe and stole they prefer.
