In Memory of Pastor Joe Brown

In faith, we share the news that Pastor Joseph F. Brown, a retired local pastor in the Desert Southwest Conference, died on Monday, May 13, 2019.

Pastor Brown was born on June 3, 1936 in Braddock, PA. He moved to Tucson in 1983 and received his license for pastoral ministry in 2002. His service in the Desert Southwest Conference included: Bowie: Bowie UMC; San Simon: San Simon UMC; Tucson: Northwest Medical Center; Tucson: St. James UMC; Tucson: St. John’s UMC; and Eloy: First UMC. Pastor Brown retired in 2016. He is survived by his wife Alice, three sons Joseph (Rob), Daniel and Edward and many other family members.

A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s UMC, 1431 W. Magee Road, Tucson, AZ 85704. There will be a clergy processional. You are invited to wear whatever color robe and a white stole.
