Grant Funds for DSC Way Forward

by | Jul 17, 2019 | DSC Way Forward, Grants, New Faith Communities

Many conversations are being held globally, nationally, and jurisdictionally about the possible future of The United Methodist Church, and some of these conversations are open to all persons. The Leadership Institute at Church of the Resurrection in September is a good example.

If the Desert Southwest Conference values all voices, we believe we must also try to help all voices to be heard. In line with this value, churches can apply for grants to help cover some of the costs of travel, hotel, and registration for those who want to attend but need help with the expense. The awards are designed to help people attend events, but not to pay for the entire experience. Applicants will need to fund part of the cost. Those who receive a grant will also help the rest of the DSC community by sharing the most significant moments, tools, and resources that the applicant experienced at the chosen event. Funds are limited.

To apply for a grant, go to https://dscumc.org/new-and-vital-faith/way-forward-grant-page. There you will find an on-line form you can fill out and select the “Submit” button when completed. You can also download the pdf form, fill it out and either fax, scan, email, or snail mail it to the listed address. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible of the grant team’s decision.

If you have any questions about the grant, please contact:

Wendy Swanson, Chairperson of Vital Faith Communities Team at was0424@hotmail.com or Dave McPherson, Director of New & Vital Faith Communities at dmcpherson@dscumc.org.
