Globally, one in three women experiences sexual or gender-based violence. Many factors increase women’s vulnerability to violence including motherhood, migration and the accessibility of guns.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Church and Society have created a study to help congregations reflect on what the Bible and The United Methodist Church have to say about domestic violence. Download the study titled, Hidden in Plain Sight: A Call to End Domestic Violence, linked below. Reflect theologically on the physical, emotional and sexual abuse that many people experience.

Encourage people within your faith community to work to build healthy relationships and advocate for policies that end the threats of violence.
