I grew up mostly in California and attended the University of California, Davis. Then I went off to Princeton Theological Seminary for my Master of Divinity, graduating in 2005.
I spent a year as a Young Adult Volunteer in Mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA) living in Tucson, AZ and working with No More Deaths and St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church before taking my first ordained position as a Resident Pastor of Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta that was funded by the Lilly Endowment. From that two-year program, I moved to Oxford, Mississippi, and served as Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian.
Most importantly in Oxford, I met Joanne, and we were married after she moved to Nashville to attend nursing school at Vanderbilt. We then moved to Austin, Texas, where I completed my Divinity of Ministry at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work at the University of Texas. Also in Austin, I served as a part-time pastor of Genesis Presbyterian Church and for the past three years, I have been the full-time pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Clarion, PA.
