The Well-Read Laity

by | Sep 30, 2019 | North District Notes, North District Web Page

As I communicate with local churches in the North District I am always pleased to hear about small groups centered on reading.  As a book-lover, I take note of what people are enjoying, or finding stimulating.

I hope to add to this list monthly and encourage you to send me your suggestions, too. As the weather cools, a comfy chair, a good book beckons me to pause and to be transformed for a time.

From the Desk of DS Dan Morley:
Quietly Courageous by Gil Rendle

From St. John’s UMC in Kingman:
Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult
The Storytellers Secret by Sajal Badani

From The Small Group Cafe based at University UMC:
A Man Called Ove by Fredrick  Backman

And from  my reading corner, a book of blessings by a favorite United Methodist Clergywoman:
Circle of Grace by Jan Richardson

It’s finally Fall, and I will see you all soon as Dan and I travel the District!
