Appointment Announcement January 27, 2020

The Rev. N. Susan Brims, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the East District, announced that Bishop Robert T. Hoshibata has appointed Rev. Robert Rynders as Executive Director at 1703: A Faith Collaborative in Scottsdale, AZ, effective January 1, 2020 per paragraph 344.1d in the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline.

1703 is a new nonprofit organization whose purpose is to help faith communities build community and connect to their neighbors. In addition to developing its staffing requirements, 1703 has also launched Social Thread, a non-judgmental community of faith that organizes gatherings and small groups that meet in homes and public spaces. The Orontes Project is now known as 1703: A Faith Collaborative.

Rev. Rynders will have a secondary appointment at Sanctuary UMC in Tucson, AZ per paragraph 331.5 in the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline.

Rev. David Wasson, currently appointed less than full time to The Orontes Project will end this appointment as of January 31, 2020. Rev. Wasson will remain appointed less than full time to North Scottsdale UMC in Scottsdale, AZ.
