In Memory of Pastor Mavae Koli

by | Jan 30, 2020 | Death Announcements

In sadness, we share the news that Pastor Mavae Koli died on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

Pastor Koli was a licensed local pastor in the Desert Southwest Conference. He received his license in 2010. His service included First Tongan United Methodist Fellowship as a lay person assigned and as a local pastor. He is survived by his wife ‘Eseta.

Pastor Koli served as a strong yet gentle servant for Christ. He shepherded his congregation in grace and love. Family of home and church were central to Mavae’s life. He gave sacrificially as he passed on the gift of Christ through the Tongan heritage, especially to the next generation.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:00 am (pacific) at Trinity United Methodist Church, 6151 West Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. Clergy are invited to join a processional and wear a black robe and choice of stole.

In Tongan tradition, family and friends will come to visit and pay respects at the Koli home all week before the funeral service. Generous hospitality is offered to those who visit and it is traditional that any monetary gifts will be directed to the family to assist with this purpose. If you would like to remember Pastor Koli in this way, you may offer your gift directly to his spouse, Eseta Koli.

Condolences can be sent to:

Eseta Koli
1905 Carver Avenue
North Las Vegas, NV  89032

We come together in grief, acknowledging our human loss. May God grant us grace, that in pain we may find comfort; in sorrow, hope; and in death, resurrection. With gratitude for the life and ministry of Pastor Mavae Koli, please hold his family and friends in prayer at this time.
