Covenant Council approves COVID-19 loan/grant for churches

by | Apr 3, 2020 | Grants, Conference Newsletter, New Faith Communities

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ. During this challenging time may you be comforted by Christ’s presence in your life and home and know Christ’s peace.

The leadership of the annual Conference is aware of us and with us in this time of need. On Thursday, April 2, 2020, the Covenant Council approved the use of $500,000 in the form of a loan/grant to help churches across our Conference that are distressed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This money is being made available from the New Faith Communities Endowment and we pray that it will be a help in the season to come.  Additionally, find resources to assist with applying for CARES Act funding here.

Details about requirements and how to apply for the money are found herein.

One of the best things about being a United Methodist is the way that our connection can and does work in times such as these. We give thanks to God for the ability to offer this aid for such a time as this.

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Dan Hurlbert, Covenant Council Chair
