Send your questions about Annual Conference to communications@dscumc.org. Below you’ll find the answers to some of the frequently asked questions about this year’s online Annual Conference session.

Is it too late to participate in a practice session?

It’s not too late to register to participate in another zoom practice session. The recording of the pre-conference briefing is still available at dscumc.org/ac. You can watch the recording to find out about the pending legislation and get voting practice at the next practice session on June 9 at noon. Please click here to register for this practice session.

Do I still need to register for Annual Conference?

There are two parts to registration. The payment registration and the zoom participation registration. Some have not yet paid for their Annual Conference registration. To register to pay for Annual Conference, please click here. To register for the clergy session, laity session, or plenary session, visit dscumc.org/ac.

How can I get tech support during Annual Conference?

Delegates should participate in the practice session to address their tech concerns and affirm that their device and internet access will work for the online Annual Conference session. In addition, GNTV is available online and over the phone to offer tech support at https://vote.gntv.info/help/ or 478-216-7709. Visit the help today and watch the video instructions available.

Do I have to register for the Laity Session?

The Laity Session is now open to all laity and clergy of the Desert Southwest Conference. But non-voting lay members don’t have to register. If you just want to watch the session, go to www.dscumc.org/ac to find the live stream. If you want to participate in the session, click here to register. By registering and participating in the zoom session, you will be able to interact with others and ask questions.

Where can I watch the Annual Conference live stream?

This year’s Annual Conference Live Stream will be available at dscumc.org/ac and on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/DSCCommunication. To get an email notification when the live stream is running, visit the Desert Southwest Conference Communications YouTube channel and click on the Subscribe button now. Individuals will also have a call-in option to listen to the session over the phone. Details about that are available at dscumc.org/ac. Please note that streaming on YouTube instead of Facebook is a change to the previously advertised plan for live streaming locations. Whether we go back to the Facebook live stream plan or stick with the YouTube live stream plan, you will find a direct link to the live stream at dscumc.org/ac once the link is available. If you want to share information about the live stream with your congregation, send them to dscumc.org/ac to watch the embedded live stream or to find the link to the social live stream.

Delegates, please do not watch the live stream at the same time you are participating in the Annual Conference zoom sessions.

Where can I watch the 2020 clergy retiree video?

As this year’s Annual Conference is online and limited in time, some items will be addressed at different times. Although this year’s retiring clergy will be recognized during the Annual Conference online session, the video of their collected interviews will be available to watch at dscumc.org/ac instead of during the Annual Conference session.
