Enhance Your Pastoral Counseling Skills

by | Oct 20, 2020 | East District Newsletter, West District Newsletter

During this pandemic one of the things we have learned is the need to care for those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, any number of COVID related problems.  A member of Desert Mission UMC, Tres Adames – a pastoral counselor in private practice in the west valley, is inviting pastors to participate in a pilot program designed to provide mental health training for pastors in parish ministry.  The cost is very reasonable; $300 for the entire course. The training is a certified ACPE program, (not CPE).

This is the link if you want to know more.

Tres Adames will be doing the pilot program this January. Tres is looking to find 10-12 participants to start.

For those needing financial assistance: A limited number of individual grants to cover the $300.00 cost are available. One can apply for Golden Cross funds by contacting Billie Fidlin, Director of Outreach & Justice, bfidlin@dscumc.org .
