In Memory of Mr. Russel C. Wells

In sadness, we share the news that Mr. Russel C. Wells, spouse of Rev. Shirley Wells, died on Sunday, December, 6, 2020.

Mr. Russ Wells was born on Independence Day, July 4, 1934. A lifelong Methodist, Mr. Wells served as a Shriner and was past Grand Master of the Masons for the State of Michigan. He was active in the leadership of DeMolay, mentoring young men for community service. He will be remembered as a loving father, loving husband, loving friend and a precious child of God. 

Rev. Shirley Wells is a retired deacon in the Desert Southwest Conference. She was a graduate of National College and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She was consecrated as a diaconal minister in 1989 and served at Dayspring UMC as the Director of Christian Education. She transferred to the South Florida Conference but returned to the Desert Southwest in 1997 where she was ordained as a deacon in full connection. She continued to serve in the conference at Dayspring in the role of Minister of Spiritual Development. Rev. Wells retired in 2005 and has been serving at Dayspring as the Minister of Spiritual Formation.
