Climate Justice Initiative

Today when I was pumping gas, I could not help but think about the oil spill in California on Saturday, October 2, 2021. My mind wandered to the perpetrator/s, but then I looked at the gas I was pumping, and it dawned on me that I am somewhat responsible, too. After all, I benefit from the pipelines in our country. Their contents make my car go. I thought again about United Methodist Women’s climate justice initiative and our push for electric vehicles and related legislation. It really hit me that I should be walking, biking, using mass transit, and/or saving up for an electric vehicle and charging station. Build Back Better is critical. We need to be contacting our senators especially, encouraging them to support our climate justice initiatives. Will you join our virtual meeting with Senator Kelly’s office on Friday, October 15 from 7:15-8:00 AM. MST? Please contact Maria if you are willing and able. Thank you.
