Vision from the vice president

October 9 was a good day. Our Annual Celebration finally arrived. What a joy to see so many women, even if was on Zoom. Everyone was eager and ready to go. We had so many good parts of the day. The video message from our new Bishop Grant Hagiya was a surprise. Our East District Superintendent Susan Brims joined us for the day as well. Our work is confirmed when we share it with those leaders around us.

In my “thank yous” for the day I made mention of our Conference Leadership Team and how many stepped outside of their comfort zones and made videos even though it was not easy or comfortable for them to do so. Ladies, that’s  how we are a team. We work it out, figure out a plan, and move forward. We have new things coming our way daily it seems, and United Methodist Women are right there in the front leading the way. I am proud to be a part of this team with new members and a new President coming on. Gracie Campbell, you have a big job, but you will never do it alone. We will always have our team to rely on. Welcome aboard!

Our speaker Gloria Kimbwala shared her incredibly story. She reminded us we have work to do and gave us many ideas. God is at the helm of our learning to love abundantly in our communities. We each can make the choice to love and respect our neighbors, visitors at our churches and those struggling in our communities. Come along ladies, follow, and hold fast. He alone is my rock and my salvation, he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:6

Turn! It! Up!

As I reread an article in our North Country Breezes by Allie Lakey back in June 2014 I was reminded of the assemblies I attended in the past. At this year’s Assembly 2022 my experience was exhilarating to see the diversity and inclusion again gathered from those around the country. Singing along with the all women band was great knowing that it was their first time altogether in person.
