Hello Desert Southwest Annual Conference! Our Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry (BHECM) is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for the Cooke Memorial Scholarship Fund for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Students must be enrolled full-time in a two or four-year higher education institution to be eligible for this scholarship. In addition, students must be a member of a church in the Desert Southwest Conference (DSC) and/or a member of one of the United Methodist Campus Ministries in the DSC.

Students must complete an application form and submit proof of enrollment. Applicants must submit two character references from a clergy or campus minister under appointment in the DSC and the second from a teacher or professor.

Submit application materials via the Desert Southwest Annual Conference website at https://dscumc.org/campus-ministry before May 30, 2022 by completing the application form and references form linked at the top of the page.

BHECM will review candidates based on the following criteria: service to/through the church, evidence of financial need, and academic achievement and promise.

For students receiving a scholarship of less than $1,000, funds will be awarded directly to the student. Scholarships of $1,000 or more are awarded to the student’s school.

If you have any questions or would like to donate to this fund, please feel free to contact Rev. Jamie Booth at director@valleywesley.com.
