The Rev. Javier Olivares, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the West District, announced that Bishop Grant J. Hagiya intends to appoint the Rev. Sandra Jimenez and Pastor Manuel Jimenez as the pastors of a New Church Start Ministry in Yuma, AZ, less than full-time, effective July 1, 2022. Rev. Sandra will be appointed per ¶346.1 of the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline. She currently serves at Stratmoor Hills UMC in Colorado Springs, CO. Pastor Manuel will be appointed per ¶318.2 of the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline. He currently serves at Brentwood UMC in Denver, CO. Rev. Sandra & Pastor Manuel Jimenez are from The Mountain Sky Conference.
Rev. Jaime Vazquez, currently appointed to the New Church Start in Yuma, will enter retired status effective July 1, 2022.
