The Rev. Javier Olivares, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the West District, announced that Bishop Grant J. Hagiya intends to appoint the Rev. David Rennick to serve as Executive Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Phoenix, AZ, effective July 1, 2022. Rev. Rennick is currently serving at North Scottsdale UMC in Scottsdale, AZ.
Rev. Rennick will serve closely with Senior Pastor, Rev. Denny Silk, as a clergy team to fulfill the mission and ministry plan of the church and prepare for the future.

Pastor Wurpts is currently serving as the associate pastor at Paradise Valley UMC in Paradise Valley, AZ.

Ann Lyter as senior pastor of Velda Rose UMC, Mesa, AZ, effective July 1, 2022. Rev. Lyter currently serves as pastor at Scottsdale UMC in Scottsdale, AZ.
The Rev. Dr. Larry R. Norris, current senior pastor, will return to inactive status, effective July 1, 2022

Pastor Robin Lee has been serving as the pastor since July 1, 2016, and will be taking a leave of absence.
