Every spring for more than 20 years Potosi Pines has welcomed a team of amazing volunteers from the Nomad ministry to help us keep the camp in top shape. There are few surfaces that have not been cleaned, painted, hammered, or re-imagined by the Nomads. With financial support from the Southern Nevada Foundation we have been able to fund many of the Nomad projects. These amazing volunteers spend 3 weeks in camp staying in their RV’s and help get us ready for the summer season. This year was no exception!  Easter Sunday afternoon they started showing up and got to work that next day!

This year the project was to sand and re-stain our front porch. If you have been to Potosi you know that porch is the center piece of our camp. It is the first thing guest see when they come to camp, it is the place we spend a great deal of time, it is a place of laughter, fun, worship, and fellowship. It is important that our porch is in top shape. This new stain/paint required that they get all the old paint off, which was a huge job!  They spend days and days sanding.  It was tedious, loud, dirty, and challenging, but they banished all that old paint form every nook and cranny! The new stain/paint is supposed to last 25 years and it looks amazing!  We are so grateful for all the hard work and dedication these great volunteers put into our porch. Next time you are in camp, be sure to notice their great work!
