In sadness, we share the news that Mr. Benjamin Bealor, spouse of The Rev. A. Catharine Bealor, died on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
Mr. Benjamin Bealor was born in York, PA and was an only child. He attended The Hershey School where his father was the resident physician. His family moved to Oklahoma where he finished college and then served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant from 1964-1973. He then lived in Northern Virginia while working in the Inspector General’s office for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management until his retirement in 1995. He spent time in Prescott, AZ and Charlottesville, VA before settling in Winchester, VA. He enjoyed fly fishing, walking his dog, and being active in the Lions Club and with Christ Episcopal Church.
Rev. A. Catharine Bealor is a retired elder in the Desert Southwest Conference. She is a graduate of American University and Wesley Theological Seminary and was admitted on probation into the Virginia Annual Conference in 1988. She was appointed to serve as a Chaplain at the Hermitage North VA (1989); as the associate at Springfield UMC in Springfield, VA (1990); and a leave of absence (1996). In the Desert Southwest Conference, Rev. Bealor served at Shepherd of the Pines UMF in Heber, AZ and Holbrook UMC (1997); transferred to the Desert Southwest Conference (1999); Camp Verde UMC in Camp Verde (1999); disability leave (2000). Rev. Bealor retired in 2007.
