Your Desert Southwest Conference Earth Care team will be providing you with a short tip each month to help address things we can do to care for environmental justice. Here is this month’s tip.

With our hot summers, this is a great time to start sun-drying laundry. Benefits include saving as much as 20% on your utility bill, disinfecting with sunlight, reduced risk of dryer lint fire, longer-lasting clothes, and a sun-dried towel even makes a good exfoliant! Start making this a habit with an air-only toss in the dryer for tops and pants to avoid wrinkles, then put these on hangers to dry on a clothesline. (No clothespins needed!) HOA forbids this or small/no yard? Use a collapsible accordion rack set on the patio or balcony.
