Ash Dotson – Page Community UMC

Ash Dotson began adulting in the U.S. Air Force as a systems analyst on a guidance system. After the Air Force, he entered civilian employment with Morton Thiokol (now Northrup Grumman) as a test engineer on rocket and satellite motors. Ash worked his way up to supervisor of test operations for the Elkton, Maryland plant when he felt a call to the vocation of full-time ministry. He resigned from his position in aerospace, went on staff as an assistant to the pastor at a local United Methodist Church and entered Eastern Seminary (now Palmer). Ash was licensed and appointed as an associate pastor while completing seminary. Once graduating with a Master of Divinity in 2003, he was appointed as senior pastor of Whatcoat UMC in Camden, Delaware. Ash served four different appointments in the Peninsula/Delaware and Susquehanna conferences over a 12-year period. He then took some time to begin and complete a two-year Spiritual Direction Training program with the Haden Institute at the Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Once completed Ash accepted a call and transferred to the American Baptist Church where he served a church in Corning, New York. In 2017 Ash’s wife, Mary (A UMC elder and pastor at Green Valley UMC in Henderson, NV) accepted an appointment to the Desert Southwest Conference of the UMC. Ash resigned his position in New York and he and Mary moved west. Since that time Ash has had a small spiritual direction practice as well as extensive training in the enneagram to become an enneagram facilitator, and has begun training in clergy coaching. Mary, and he enjoy the desert and the beach and all that goes along with that as well as hiking.

Sarah Moon – Hope UMC, Bullhead City, AZ

Rev. Sarah Moon is a newly ordained elder in The United Methodist Church. She graduated from Methodist Theological School in Ohio with a Master of Divinity (2019) and a Master of Theological Studies (2020) degree, specializing in ecotheology and Biblical languages. Her most recent appointment was to four United Methodist Churches in Ohio, which kept her busy! One of her greatest passions in ministry is helping make the Bible accessible to all, and showing the ways that it can be read as a text of liberation and love. She lives in Las Vegas with her spouse, Abraham Kobylanski (yes, they are Sarah and Abraham), and their three cats: Pickle, Zelda, and Majima.

Diamond Pate – Federated Community Church, Flagstaff, AZ

Diamond is a Las Vegas, NV native who knew she had a call to ministry after attending General Conference of The United Methodist Church as a high school student. She continued her pursuit of ministry by graduating with a Bachelor of Art in Religion at Pfeiffer University, a Methodist liberal arts college in North Carolina in 2013. After graduation she became a Young Adult Missionary through the General Board of Global Ministries serving through the US-2 program. As a US-2, she spent six months in New Jersey recruiting youth and young adults to do Superstorm Sandy recovery work before transferring to Hinton Rural Life Center, a camping and retreat center that does home repairs for low-income families in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. While at Hinton she fell in love with the Appalachian culture and the beautiful mountain landscape.

After completing her missionary service, Diamond attended seminary at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary outside of Chicago, IL. While at Garrett, she completed two internships one as a Heerey Chaplain Intern at Evanston Hospital and the other as a Student Pastor at the Hyde Park/Woodlawn Site of Urban Village Church. She graduated with her Master of Divinity in 2018. She returned to the Desert Southwest Conference and served her first full-time appointment as the Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Gilbert in Gilbert, Arizona in 2018 where she remained until she was appointed to Federated Community Church in July of 2022.
