Meet Paul Hewitt, the new North District Director of Lay Servant Ministries.
Paul Hewitt started as a Lay Speaker more than 25 years ago while living in the Sacramento area. He has been the Lay Servant Ministry Director/ Committee Chair in two different districts prior to moving to Las Vegas five years ago. He has been married for 52 years to his wife Linda and they have three children and five grandchildren. They attend Green Valley UMC in Henderson. He was involved in public education for 35 years serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. After retiring early, he accepted a position as a professor at the University of Arkansas where he was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus. He holds a bachelor’s, two master’s, and a doctorate degree. He enjoys traveling with Linda and they have visited 42 countries and 12 possessions in the last seven years. Paul is excited about serving in this important role and is looking forward to getting to know other leaders throughout the District.
