Impossible or Possible?

by | Sep 15, 2022 | Clergy and Lay Leadership Development, West District Newsletter

Does it feel like you need to take a breather, since 75% of the year is gone? Or do you see the “end of the tunnel” and you can’t wait to get this done, to pick up a new project from God?

Even though the year is almost over, the effort continues with forwarding progress. Sometimes we look at the “whole” progress, it feels like the wheels are turning slow to where it never ends. We lose focus, when we feel the progress is slow, you should look at how much work was done and what goals were accomplished. Even a little progress can have an impact. God knows you can complete the task, if you feel a lack of motivation, or just seem overwhelmed with the task, God is waiting for you to ask for help to uplift one’s spirit and/or strength to walk alongside the journey.

We forget to ask God for help, since “we” know “we” can complete the task by ourselves. Wow!! How do we forget who is in charge of the program?

Maybe we need to take the impossible and know there is no impossible that God cannot do, to re-focus our life and let God help us with the journey. During the year we get distracted from all the “noise (Satan)” around us, then we lose focus on God’s task at hand.  Don’t let the noise around you get your eyes off the task, keep on keeping on for God’s glory and mission. Yes, the year is almost gone, but look how far we have accomplished for God!  Don’t give up, on the task at hand, we will be rewarded accordingly through God. Is the impossible (you fill in) can be possible through our God?

Let us pray: Our lord our God of love, we look up to you to give us strength, compassion, forgiveness, and humbleness. Lord lift me up, fill my soul, cleanse my heart, empty my mind of disillusion, fill my mind with love, clarity, the holy spirit, with songs and praises worshiping you, lord. Be the center of my life in order to be still, in silence,  hearing the whispers in the wind, fulfilling your righteousness to receive your blessing. In Jesus Christ, our lord and savior, amen.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“Jesus looked at them and said, With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7
