Your Desert Southwest Conference Earth Care team will be providing you with a short tip each month to help address things we can do to care for environmental justice. Here is this month’s tip.

Fall into savings by trying out these money-saving ideas that make cleaning really “clean.”

  • Vinegar and lemon juice are both antibacterials.
  • Baking soda is effective for surfaces that need scrubbing and, combined with diluted vinegar, will leave sparkling glass shower doors.
  • Salt does a great job for items in need of a coarse scrubber (like Comet).
  • Grandma’s window glass cleaner was vinegar with water in a spray bottle, wiped dry with newspaper (not for mirrors, though).
  • Leave a box of baking soda in the fridge for deodorizing.

For more ideas and more detailed instructions, do an internet search for “natural cleansers.” As with any product, do a small test in an inconspicuous area.
