Greetings Conference Local Church Chairs of Global Ministries & Church & Society,

As you may have read, on November 6, 2022, we are asking our wonderful churches to hold a Day of Prayer for Ukraine; especially our Methodist churches and clergy there, as well as the many people they are serving. Churches may take a special offering if so inclined. I first wrote an article about this which you can find HERE.

This morning, retired DSC minister Rev. Mel Munchinsky (who leads work in this area for our denomination) and I had another meeting with the District Superintendent in Ukraine, as well as clergy and laity. It was powerful.

This meeting was recorded. Mel and I are currently working with Communications to put the video into 2 formats for your use. As the videos are finished, we will publicize the links along with additional information.

One of the videos will be longer – perhaps 30 minutes or more. It will be perfect for your meetings at church or for those interested in learning more about the daily lives of the churches and clergy there. There will be a 2nd video – around 1 minute. That one will be useful for mission moments during a church service. We will also provide you with some worship resources.

How you engage in the Day of Prayer will be up to you. While we are targeting November 6, 2022, for prayer and hopefully a special offering, if your church wants to do this on another day – of course! The Advance number is listed in the article above. For your convenience, CLICK HERE to learn more.

Please share about November 6 and the upcoming videos with your clergy person. Hopefully, they have read the original article, but a conversation from you will be all the more special – thank you.

Such courageous people. Such a blessing to share time with them. They asked us to especially remember them in prayer. To not grow weary of the news about this conflict; to remember them.

I know we can do that. Thank you, friends. Truly.
